What is barefoot bandit?

The Barefoot Bandit, whose real name is Colton Harris-Moore, gained notoriety in the early 2000s for a string of crimes committed in the United States, particularly in the Pacific Northwest. Harris-Moore earned his moniker "Barefoot Bandit" because he committed many of his crimes while barefoot.

The teenager's crime spree included stealing cars, boats, and planes, as well as breaking into homes and businesses. He became somewhat of a folk hero to some due to his daring escapades and ability to evade capture for so long.

Harris-Moore was finally arrested in the Bahamas in 2010 after crash-landing a stolen plane. He pleaded guilty to several charges and was sentenced to seven years in prison. Since his release in 2016, he has expressed remorse for his crimes and has been trying to turn his life around.

The story of the Barefoot Bandit has been the subject of books, documentaries, and even a movie.
